Creating the EURONET 50/50 network

One of the main aims of the project is to develop a 50/50 Network of schools that apply the 50/50 concept to save energy. This network will be made up of at least 50 schools that will take part in the project during two years.

The creation of the 50/50 network has two aims:

  • On the one hand making people aware of the project and the methodology
employed as an instrument for promoting energy-saving and a reduction in
greenhouse gas emissions in educational centres.
  • On the other hand, providing a platform for exchanging experiences among all
    the participating centres.

The 50/50 Network will be open to all the educational centres around Europe that wish to
get involved in saving energy.

One of the first steps to create the network is to select the 50 schools where the 50/50 methodology is to be developed. The project focuses on primary schools in order to work on a common methodology for a specific group of age (from 10 to 12). The schools selected will commit to put into practice the 50/50 concept during at least two years, will set up an energy team that will lead this implantation and will receive technical assistance from the project to better understand and apply the methodology.
