Establishing 50/50 Common Methodology
The first steps of Euronet 50/50 focus on the definition of the methodology to implement the 50/50 concept in education centres around Europe. The experience on 50/50 of the German partner (UFU) is the starting point to set this methodology. However, it is also important to look at other practices in the partner countries and to assess the differences in the educational systems of the partners. The participation of local experts is also taken into account in this phase of the project with the aim to enrich the methodology to develop.
Activities included in this phase:
- Define and specify the basic conditions for applying the 50/50 methodology in each country, especially given the wide diversity among members. The 50/50 methodology has been widely adopted in Germany, but it’s important to know if the rest of the countries have the same (or equivalent) characteristics in their educational system, centre management systems, or their energy-saving or efficiency routines.
- Local workshop addressed to the key actors will be carried out with the aim to contrast the methodology and the educational materials, and gather information on the peculiarities of each country.
- Set a 50/50 methodology to implement in any European educational centre wishing to develop energy-saving actions through applying economic incentives.
- Starting to develop tools for initiating the application of the 50/50 scheme in each country (model agreements, practicalities of how Energy teams might work in each school, etc.).
- Learning from 50/50 best practices carried out in German schools.
